Political Agenda 2011-2012
Even though we were successful in passing Civil Unions this year, and before that led the drive for passage of hospital visitation rights and non-discrimination our work at Barbara Gittings has not ended.
None of this would have happened if we had not worked to secure a legislative majority favorable to us. We will continue to support, both financially, through our PAC, and electorally, those who have been supportive of, and those who we believe will be supportive in the future. We count on your continued assistance in achieving the follow goals:
Electing openly GLBT candidates to the State Legislature and to Statewide office.
Getting transgender protections included in the non-discrimination statutes.
Having openly GLBT legislative and administrative staff, including cabinet officials.
Securing enough funds in our PAC to elect legislators committed to these goals.
